Others had this similar problem and I think if you read this thread it might help you fix the problem. I reinstalled 3.0 twice and the recent update in Stardock Central fixed my problem with IP.

Hi Fairyy & Marianne
Fairyy I have a question: are you saying that the version they are offering now has the problems fixed? I thought I saw in one of the posts that you were running McAfee and you were having a lot of problems with IP3. This is what has happened to me too. They have it fixed? Ya think they would let ya know.

No, that was someone else that had the problem with their Anti-virus conflicting with IP. My problem was not being able to d/load the newer icon packages. I did the IP update today...it may have been out awhile and may be a beta version, i didnt look. I figured it couldnt make it worse. But, it "seems" to have fixed my problem.

Hi,Maranne,Fairyy~,And Chasbo,I have been in contact with Stardock Support over the phone and thru the e-mail.This version of Icon Packager(3.00.090) is causing issues with some computers. On my machine(2.8GHz,80GB&40GB,1.12GB of RAM)it freezes the whole computer,or causes many programs not to open.Developers are aware of the problem and are currently working on a fix. If you didn't have the last version before version 3 archived you are out of luck because version 3 is a release issue.Lets hope they get the fix out soon.

Hi Folks,

I was just checking for this thread because I too have a problem with Icon Packager(3.00.090). When I install it, it corrupts PaintShop Pro 9 and Photo Album 5. I tried to uninstall it and got an error that it could not be uninstalled. Tried to restore previous version from archiver and no go there either. Finally resorted to a checkpoint I created to debug this and the checkpoint rolled me back to the .089 version which seems to both work and not corrupt my other programs.

To Stardock: From this thread and the other linked above, this seems to have been going on for awhile. I think a lot of us would appreciate either a fix or to a least have the older version available for those without backup.

About three quarters of my packages don't show up. Everytime I want to use them I have to install them again (they then disappear for next time!) Ho hum...

There's a bug in there somewhere

~I'm not sure why mine is working at the moment. I hadn't been able to get the newer IP's to even open after downloading. The message box that popped up said " no OD zip dll found, please reinstall package "
I uninstalled Object Dock before doing this latest update yesterday, now its working. But.....I have no object dock at the moment and im not sure what one has to do with the other.

So for now I use the " Right Click " Menu program..which has NOT had an update since last February, btw. I don't understand why Stardock released the program then just forgot about it.
